Birthday Extravaganza

Holy crap I'm 30!! When did that happen? I actually don't mind getting older as long as I don't look old. 😉 I have the most amazing husband, he spoiled me rotten. On Thursday the 12 Drew took me to the amazing Crater. It's about 30 mins up Provo canyon.
When we drove up I of course was asleep so I couldn't figure out where this crater was. We walked up to this hill and there was a door on the side.
It was pretty cool walking inside this little hill. It was a crazy cave with crystal clear blue water. It was also very warm!
Unfortunately they thought I was a toddler and gave me the smallest life vest ever. I had to hold it down so it wasn't choking me.
At the top of the cave there was a hole and the most incredibly green miss growing around the sides of the crater.
At first I was super hesitant in the water, because the walls of this cave sloped down and made it look like it went further than it did. That freaked me out to not know what was over there. Once we grabbed the snorkel gear and I could see it wasn't so bad. I still get nervous being in water by myself.
That night we went to dinner with the amazing Radford's. Melanie just gets me! She never judges me, she just supports me and loves me. Her girls are like sisters to Lila and Nora. They play like sisters. I don't have pictures from dinner because Nora fell asleep and I was holding her most of the night.
On Friday we had cake for breakfast! This wasn't just any cake, it was a dark chocolate cake from this dessert cafe called The Chocolate. I mean how can you not love it. I have to admit I ate cake for every meal that day and the next two days. Nora kept blowing the candles out before they could sing to me. Lila was not happy about this.

The girls thought this was the best thing ever! Yes my child is naked and climbing on the table. That's how we roll in our house. We are very casual.
Lila was hungry like 20 minutes later so I tried to convince her that we can't eat cake for breakfast everyday because it isn't very healthy and won't give us the nutrients we need. She still thinks its the best birthday tradition.
Lila wanted to play birthday party games. I don't think she has been to a party where they have played pin the tail on the donkey but she wanted to play it. Drew found pin the tail on the cheetah. Lila loved it but kept cheating. It took a couple of rounds for her to figure it out.
Drew also surprised me with flowers! He knows that daffodils are my favorite. I love having flowers by my bed. If we weren't on a tight budget while we pay off student loans and save for a house this would be one of my luxuries.

Drew is the best husband! He stayed up until 2 am folding laundry and cleaning the house for me. Seriously this would have been enough for me.

Drew had to work so while he was working I took the girls to the gym while they played in the daycare I went to the salon (in the gym, I didn't leave my kids there) and got a pedicure.
After work Drew and I went out on a date while Drew's co-worker watched out kiddos. She is the best! She took both girls to the park and then they went to see Cinderella. They loved it. Drew and I went to the Copper Onion, it was amazing.
Here is my disclaimer, I used to be the first person to fall asleep every night. Once I went back to school I have become a night owl. I can't go to sleep early anymore, which having children and not going to bed early is no Bueno. After our super fun date Blair came over to hang out and eat cake. She is so much fun I just love her. While we were hanging out and chatting I totally passed out. There was just too much birthday fun!
On Saturday we had a pretty low key morning. The girls played around the house most the morning. Drew and I did get to watch a couple of episodes of Psych while eating Cadbury dark chocolate eggs. I have a problem! Nora saw that I had chocolate and kept stealing it. That afternoon Kristin took me out on a date. We went and saw Cinderella (which I absolutely loved) after we went to get sushi. I love Kristin so much, she is one of my most favorite people in the world. I am so grateful for her and her friendship!

This was the best birthday I have ever had. Drew is a loving thoughtful man and I am so incredibly lucky to have him. I love this man so much!!! Sorry for the picture overload but I wanted to remember all the little details and the kind thoughtful things that Drew did for me. I'm one lucky blessed 30 year old.
