Sleep Training

Ever since we moved to Utah and Drew has been working at Minuteman RX he has been traveling a lot. The girls and I were lucky enough that we were able to join him in some of his travels. We had so much fun but it made having the girls on a normal schedule very difficult. We knew that after the first of the year Drew wouldn't have to travel so much and we could finally get Nora and Lila to fall asleep in their own beds at the same time. Sounds so much easier than it really is. Ever since Lila started climbing out of her Crib when Nora was only days old we have struggled with her. She just wants to be awake with Mom and Dad. But I love mommy and daddy time so that was not ok. When she was around three years old we finally got her to go to sleep by herself in her own bed. When she started preschool and gave up naps she would fall asleep before we were done with our bedtime routine. She got so used to us being there when she fells asleep. Nora was in a crib so it wasn't to bad with her, until she started climbing out.
When we got home from Arizona we put a plan into action. The first couple of nights were a struggle, they were both in and out of bed for about an hour. We would also find Nora not in her bed but on the chair snuggled up.

After a couple of nights of our routine Nora would wait until Lila was asleep and sneak up into her bed. She loves her sister, but she also loves to torment her sister.

So after about a week we were successful! They finally were both asleep in their own beds.
Occasionally we will still find the littles in odd places, but hey they are asleep who cares. We also have had to put a lock on the outside of their door that we use once they are both asleep. They love to find their way into our bed. There is no room in our bed for little kids. =)

Haha that last pic or Nora is cracking me up! And how is it that my 3.5 year old STILL can't climb out of cribs? Haha she's special.
Glad drew won't have to go out of town very much anymore---or at all.
